Sarah Lee is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, whose research focuses on religion and politics as seen in the contexts of comparative politics and international relations in the Asia-Pacific. Her dissertation explores the Chinese Communist Party’s selective treatment of Protestant churches using mixed methodology. Sarah has written on topics ranging from contentious politics in authoritarian regimes to major power dynamics in multilateral institutions. Sarah received an MA in Political Science from UC Berkeley, an MA in International Relations from Peking University and a BA in Government from Dartmouth College. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Global Religion Research Initiative.
